Casella’s Jeremy Labbe was recently named one of Waste360’s 2022 40 Under 40. The distinction recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in waste, recycling, and organics have made a significant contribution to the industry.

Labbe began his career in the waste and recycling industry in 2005 as a graduate student intern at Casella before going on to gain valuable hands-on experience within the company in tuning, maintaining, installing, and managing landfill gas collection systems. In 2007 he was hired full-time as an Environmental Technician, where his industry knowledge helped improve the company’s gas recovery investments and boost innovative gas-to-energy landfill projects, before taking on his current position as General Manager at Casella’s NEWSVT Landfill in Coventry, Vermont.

Jeremy LabbeIn addition to his professional responsibilities, Labbe received the Waste and Recycling Rising Star Award in 2012 and was a recipient of Casella’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2015. His teamwork and dedication continue to inspire those around him and his commitment to supporting his local community and maintaining the highest standard of landfill safety remain unmatched.

In an announcement of this year’s honorees, Waste360’s Liz Bothwell, Head of Content & Marketing and Waste360 NothingWasted! Podcast Host, acknowledged the significant work of the talented 2022 recipient pool who represent all parts of the waste and recycling industry, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recycling professionals, policymakers, and product suppliers.
